My Grandmother is visiting… 

And she and my dad began a conversation about my mother’s smoking habits and how they both think it’s going to kill her. They started talking about how her ‘asthma’ is probably just ‘enphysema’ and my dad made the comment that she was probably going to die first even with all the crap that’s wrong with him (diabetes that he doesn’t look after, horrid eating habits, anger/rage problems, high blood pressure, arthritis, and a shit load of other things). I got up and just said I wasn’t going to say anything and decided to leave the room. Both of them then asked me what I meant by that. I proceeded to go off. I went on to say that here I am at 22 years old and between my parents and I, I’ve drank 2 beers and a glass of wine in over 2 months where as between my parents, my dad 54 and my mom 47, they’ve gone through 30 12 packs/24 packs of Coors Light as well as roughly 10-12 6 packs off brand bitch beers. Between the two of them I can 100% guarantee that weekly at least one of them will be fall down drunk from the alcohol they consume. 

I ended by saying that I had already accepted the fact that one or both of my parents would probably be dead before I got married, had kids, or whatever I’m supposed to do with my life. I’m glad I finally got that off my chest, but honestly my dad was still laughing when I walked out of the room. He thinks I was kidding, but I’m not. Nobody ever seems to listen to me when I go off but I have yet to be proven wrong by my beliefs…
